i want to try something new. i don’t have much experience with actual painting so which would be easier to learn, watercolor painting or using oil pastels? also which one looks better overall? thanks!

If you get watercolors you have endless color mixing opportunities with out too much hassle. It takes a lot more effort to blend the oil pastel unless you want to add thinner and if you do that, your paper will show the residue in a few weeks.
Watercolor is odorless, easily transported, and a fun simple medium to play with and it is readily available in different forms. Most people start with pans, little blocks of paint that are moistened with water, If you get more involved in the medium, you can upgrade to moist tube paint, cotton paper and nice synthetic blend brushes.

watercolouring
even with a simple palette set you can paint things that go way beyond your genuine talent… you only really need basic knowledge about watercolours to look like a pro…

The easiest painting method to use watercolor pencil or pen and ink acrylic is really fun.
