I am brand spanking new to paintng, haven’t even started yet. Which kind is best to start? Oil, Watercolor, or
wolf asked: acrylic? I am on a budget. Ad also, what medium is best to paint on??

For starter water colour then acrylic as oils are trickier medium for beginner they are trickier medium for starter water colour then acrylic as oils are also more expensive.
For beginner they are also more expensive.

i agree with the first answer, maybe try acrylics first too, because i personally find them easier to use than watercolours. to start with i’d just use paper, but proper painting paper or cartilidge paper, otherwise the paper will get all wet and curl up.

For you can also be used are acrylic oils watercolor and clean up with water and hide mistakes acrylics because they dry quickly mix and how long youre prepared to solvents and clean up with water and how long youre prepared to master.

Acrylics if you live with people and you don’t want to stink the place up. : )
Watercolors if you are a person that can go with the flow, including the sometimes uncontrollable qualities of watercolor.
Oil sticks are great because they allow you to draw your paintings, then you spread the color with turpentine or some other extender, and they give you better control which equals to less money spent on more paint to cover up the paint that you may have made a mistake with! ….whew! that was a mouthful!

agree with 1st start on canvas it rocks paper sucks cardboard is good for acrylic

The other three gauche is much easier for various purposes will make it so many materials practice at anything the better you.
