How can I clean paintings which have stayed in a humid room with cigarette smoke?
Murat Oguz asked:
Oil paintings are on canvas, 30 to 40 years old, black ink painting on cardboard, 30 years old, watercolor on thick paper, 25 years old. All have been in a humid room where cigarette was smoked all day long. They look as if there is much dust on them.

An art restorer as trying to clean them to clean them yourself may cause damage it is unbelievably easy to professional or an art restorer as trying to damage.

personally i wouldn’t even try…take them to someone who knows what they are doing so you don’t lose them.
