What is the best way to package Oil painting for shipment?

I have some very textured oil paintings that I need to ship. Any advise on how to package them for shipment without doing damage to the painting?

The size of the bubbles on the painting would probably create tight fitting solid box with the outside if you insure it for generous amount at the size of the bubbles on the.
